- in aid of the LCpl Simon Wiggins Appeal

Over the last couple of months the Battalion have been busy trying to raise
money for LCpl Simon Wiggins
who lost his leg during the Battalion's tour o f
Afghanistan last year. To date there have been thousands of people
that have helped in the aim to try and raise enough money to purchase a
specially adapted car to help LCpl Wiggins in his day to day life and become
less dependant on family and friends.
The 'major' fundraising events for this appeal have been
the 3 Peaks Challenge and the
Hougoumont or Bust Challenge. All
of these challenges have involved friends and comrades of LCpl Wiggins
taking part in mammoth challenges that put their physical and mental
abilities to the ultimate test.
All of the challenges are now complete and amounts and cheques are being
consolidated to give a final amount (this will follow very shortly), but we
have one last even - AN AUCTION for a truly magnificent item.
The auction is for a Coldstream Silver Statue, kindly donated by
Carrington's (so you know that the item is quality)!

· This statue was kindly donated by Carrington's (Mappin & Webb),
and to is valued at nearly £500
· bids
will be received for this Statue of a Coldstreamer in Ceremonial Dress.
·
This outstanding statue is silver plated, and is
mounted on a wooden plinth
and stands over 14 inches tall.
· Visitors to the Sergeants' Mess may have seen statues similar to
this that have been presented and now stand, pride of
place in Sergeants' Mess Silver Cabinets.
· The quality of this item is truly 'Second to None' but should you need
convincing please see the close-up images below.
AN ENGRAVED PLAQUE will also be mounted on the statue
FREE OF CHARGE (reserve price must be met).
This statue would stand pride of place anywhere, but in
particular as a centre piece on a Regimental Association
Dinner.
